I’ve suffered with dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cycles) for 8 years. My cycle had never been this way before, so it was a shock to suddenly start being this painful when I was about 18. The pain was unbearable. Sometimes I would end up at the ER, and even the pain meds wouldn’t work. It got to the point were I had to take a pain reliever as soon as my cramps began, otherwise if I waited until they got severe, nothing would help. I came to see Dr. He after searching via Yelp, because I’d already gone to other acupuncturists and didn’t find relief. From the beginning, I truly felt like I could trust him. He would ask questions to actually listen and just made me feel like he cared. After a consolation, he looked and me and said, “We are going to make you feel better.” He is so passionate about his practice. After only my first session, I began my period a couple days after. With this 1 treatment, I didn’t even need an ibuprofen. Obviously, I felt some discomforts, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. I can’t even remember the last time I had such an easy period. I’ve had bad chronic neck, shoulder and lower back pain for over 30 years, which became extremely worse for last three years. The pain can be as severe as 10 in scale of 1-10. I believe that the pain came from my arthritis which deteriorated over the years. For treatment of the pain, I have had multiple chiropractic treatments, over 15 times of epidural injection, and a minor surgery to remove bone spurs in my low back. After all of these treatments, my pain has never be able to be significantly reduced. Dr. recommended a surgery on my lower back from L4 to L5, but I wanted to do alternative medicine at first. A week ago, my doctor referred me to Dr. Zhong at H & Z Acupuncture office. I have had three acupuncture treatments thus far and I feel really good. I can tell a huge difference. On a scale of 1 – 10 my pain level reduced to as low as 2!.  My sleep has been much better, I was not able to sleep on my back before but now I can. My first year of college I felt stressed, pained, and generally unhealthy despite all my efforts. I have had lower back and neck pain for over 20 years. I have done Physical Therapy approximately 50 times, I have had steroid injections 4 or 5 times, and have done all kinds of stretching and nothing really seemed to work for me. I have taken a lot of medicine for my pain and they haven’t worked. This has been my tenth visit so far here at H & Z Acupuncture office and my pain is nearly gone. Acupuncture seems to really be working for me. My pain has reduced. I sleep better and I now have more energy. Acupuncture has been painless. The needles do not hurt.
