Before I started the weight loss program, my weight was 232.4 pounds. One week before that, my blood pressure was at 218/117 mmHg and I ended up going to the emergency room for treatment.  Now it has been 14 days since I started this program and I have lost eight and a half pounds. I do not feel hungry and do not have any bad feelings since starting this program. My pressure has stabilized at 124/82 mmHg. The pain in my knees and right leg has reduced. I was very skeptical about alternative medicine and my wife made me try acupuncture for my heel. I could not walk on my heel without limping or putting ice on it. I am a 79-year old woman born with a rare congenital vascular disorder called Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome or KTS.  I am also the oldest living person of record with this condition and as such, there is little or no documentation regarding successful treatments for pain. The condition causes severe venous malformation, soft bones and in my situation, my right leg is larger and longer than the other.  Though I have used a shoe lift for the last few years, the disproportionate limbs have caused hip, knee and back pain to progressively worsen over the last few years. Three years ago, I was receiving steroidal injections in the hip/groin for relief of pain due to osteoarthritis.  The injections provided very minimal relief to the extreme pain. Walking was extremely painful and was getting progressively more difficult.   The majority of traditional western medicine and practitioners are unfamiliar with my rare disorder and do not know how to treat the pain effectively.  I was desperate for relief but did not want to take narcotics.  I decided it was time to try acupuncture. The first time I met Dr. He, I did not know what to expect and was not sure how the treatments worked or if they would be successful in my situation.  Dr. He addressed my concerns and thoroughly discussed how acupuncture and acupressure work and what his plan of care would be in my case.  After my first treatment, I had real relief from the pain!  I recall driving home and was amazed that I literally had no pain.  It was the first time in a number of years that I did not have some pain. Dr. He has used acupuncture as well as acupressure to treat my symptoms.  I started with a series of treatments and have been on maintenance visits twice a month for over a year.  There are many days with literally no pain or aching at all.  With the help and expertise of Dr. He I can lead a nearly pain free active lifestyle! Dr. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable in the field of acupuncture and the health benefits beyond merely pain relief.  He is personable and caring and insures that each patient has sufficient time for each appointment.
